This is a city known for it's books, diamonds and antiques.

For the most part roads are closed to cars, so you will have to walk or ride a bike.

You may want to visit the Nieuwedijk-Kalverstraat area where there is about 1 km of nothing but shops.
You will find a variety of stores, from books to shoes.

Stop by the Amsterdam Royal Palace on Dam Square.
It was built in 1648 and opened in 1655.
Very illuminating decor fill the palace.
Artists and sculptors have added their work to the Palace.

You may want to grab a bite to eat or stop by a coffee shop for a cup of coffee. Perhaps you want to have an ice cream, you will find all of this in the shopping area.
There are a handful of bookstores as well, where you can enjoy an unusual book.

Whether it is to embrace the diverse cultures and arts or if you may want to shop in the many shops that are available, then come over to Amsterdam.
You will find something that you can definitely enjoy.
